Fashion designer Kim Mesches of Bushwick decided to gain attention for his fashion collection via the L train subway line. His line, entitled #undertheground, debuted underground on February 4th, 2015 between 3 and 4PM, and took place between Bedford and 1 Ave stops, which allowed for a very long and thought out runway show. When asked why he chose the L train line to debut his collection, Kim stated “I chose the L train because it has the longest amount of time between stops and it has a really fun creative crowd of Brooklyn and Manhattan riders. I also live off the L and am very familiar with it”.
