East NY unbeatable as NYC’s hottest neighborhood
As a follow-up to our 2017 market predictions survey, we asked our clients to nominate NYC’s hottest neighborhoods of 2018. This year’s results reveal that Brooklyn dominates the list of top hottest neighborhoods once again, with 5 out of the 10 markets being located in the borough. Last year, East New York was named 2017’s hottest neighborhood, which at the time might have been surprising, but this year’s results reassert that this Brooklyn neighborhood will stay at the top for real estate investments. In 2017, the median sale price of a home here reached $419,000, up 24% compared to 2016. Over the past 5 years, median sale prices in the neighborhood increased 55%.
