The 43rd Annual Festival Of African Culture is back at Commodore Barry Park in Fort Greene (Flushing and Park Avenues, Navy and North Elliot Streets) Starting today, July 3rd, and ending July 6th, there are tons of exciting activities and things to see! On July fourth, you can catch a performance by actor Rome Neal of Frederick Douglass reciting his historic fourth of July speech. On July 5th, a symposium on culture, community and struggle will take place. The special activities include a chess tournament, martial arts demonstration, fashion show and an arts and crafts zone for the kids.
In order to participate, the festival requests a $3 donation upon arrival.
