About:
“Ted & Honey is a sanctuary for food lovers, with a community-feel that the New York Times recently called “the spot where the entire neighborhood is starting its day.” Our cheerful red exterior invites patrons to enjoy tasty edibles 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner. At dinner, the casual café transforms into a restaurant with a wine-bar feel, serving a vast array of local Brooklyn beers, like Six Point seasonal draft, and organic old-wine biodynamic wines Thursday – Sunday from 6pm – 10pm.
Our philosophy at Ted & Honey is that you should know where your food comes from. Local farmers from Long Island, upstate New York and Pennsylvania contribute the seasonal and organic produce; and fresh meat and eggs–hormone and pesticide-free–come from Dines Farm in the Catskills. D’Amico’s, a long-established Brooklyn roasting company, provides our Ted & Honey house blend coffee and our bread is baked daily a few blocks away at Caputo’s Bakery. We are proud to support companies whose ethos and values align with our own.
At Ted & Honey all food is made to order and everything is made from scratch, right down to the pickles, mustard, ketchup and cheese. We smoke our meat and fish in house as well.
We also offer a gourmet market that features Chef Ted’s own canned sauces, pickled vegetables and fruits; his house made dried fruit nut granola, and our award winning hot sauce! Chef Ted’s Orange Apricot Jalapeno and Chipotle Hot Sauce was awarded 1st prize in the 2010 Hot Pepper Awards in the fruit category! It’s particularly great on our infamous Redneck breakfast wrap of hominy grits, scrambled eggs, farmhouse cheddar and smoked ham so please make sure to ask for some when you order it!
We love Brooklyn and we love food – let us share their passions with you.”
