This year’s Great Pupkin Dog Costume Contest held at Fort Greene Park on Saturday was a lively and energetic celebration for locals to see a variety of costumes carefully crafted for each pup to shine.
Hundreds of Brooklynites showed up to cheer dozens of dogs compete in this year’s event, which is organized by the nonprofit Fort Greene Park Users and Pets Society.
The audience was enamoured with the elaborate and beautiful puppy that donned a Liberace costume with a piano.
This year, the judges allowed the audience to cheer to decide the winner, since there was so much passion from the spectators. A dog dressed like a Babybel cheese won to several standing ovations.
There were many food-themed costumes, including a beer couple with their hot dog.
Everyone loves a Minion!
