In this week’s NYCFootball.com Game of the Week it was a showdown between the Bronx and Brooklyn, at South Shore High School. The Vikings secured a commanding victory over DeWitt Clinton High School in improving their record to 2-0 in the PSAL 4A division.
Leading the charge was senior quarterback Nicholas Cyrus who put on a stellar performance, throwing for 264 yards, with 2 TD passes and a TD run, and orchestrating the offense with precision. Cyrus’ strong arm and leadership on the field kept the DeWitt Clinton defense on its heels, allowing South Shore to control the tempo from the opening whistle. Cyrus walked off the field with the NYCFootball.com Game of the Week Game Over MVP trophy.
South Shore’s Tyjeh Schulters had another great game, with 96 receiving yards and a touchdown reception. Schulters also scored on a touchdown run, and Richard Perkins Jr. scored on a touchdown reception and had 96 receiving yards.
DeWitt Clinton fought hard, but the Vikings’ balanced attack on both sides of the ball proved too much to handle. South Shore’s defense, led by a strong front seven, consistently pressured the Governors’ offense and limited their scoring opportunities.
As South Shore looks ahead to the next matchup, they’ll aim to keep their undefeated streak alive, building on the success of Nicholas Cyrus and Tyjeh Schulters, who are quickly becoming standout stars in NYC high school football.
The Vikings are set to face another tough challenge next week, but with the way they’ve started the season, South Shore looks poised for a deep run in the PSAL 4A division. Fans and opponents alike will be watching closely to see how far this talented squad can go.
