Reimagined fitness amenities at Brooklyn’s new luxury rental includes specialty classes with star trainers (and Dime tenants!) Chris Sams and Lauren Schramm, programming by The Wright Fit, an onsite infrared sauna, plus the grand opening of climbing gym MetroRock for bouldering experiences

In South Williamsburg, The Dime – the striking, 23-story terra-cotta and glass tower architecturally intertwined with the landmarked 1908 Dime Savings Bank – has announced the launch of a new fitness & wellness program led by two star trainers (and building residents), Chris Sams and Lauren Schramm.  An on-site infrared sauna, powered by popular Williamsburg neighborhood spa HigherDOSE, has been installed which tenants can reserve for 45-minute sessions.

Additionally, the building’s state-of-the-art fitness center is programmed by amenity management firm The Wright Fit, and MetroRock, the well-known indoor bouldering space, will be opening its newest location at the base of The Dime.

With the addition of this new fitness and wellness program, weekday classes with both Sams and Schramm will be available for The Dime residents to connect the mind, body and soul without leaving the residences or needing to enter a public gym. Both trainers come from expansive fitness and wellness backgrounds to deliver a professional at-home workout experience.  Classes offered range from advanced Pilates to strength and circuit training, as well as Holotropic Breathwork.

“Our residents have responded really positively to our approach to fitness and building community, especially as we continue to navigate the current marketplace,” said Nicholas Silvers, Founding Partner of Tavros Holdings. “We’re seeing a huge demand for amenities that better the quality of life at home during and post-pandemic, and that offer safe and convenient access to the benefits of a luxury gym membership through a range of wellness amenities and expansive outdoor spaces.”

The Dime was designed to be future-forward with its amenities and services, including an entire floor dedicated to different lifestyle needs including a basketball court, the latest in exercise equipment and spaces for yoga and Pilates.

“We were always planning for The Wright Fit to program our fitness center, but with both Chris and Lauren living in the building and offering classes, we ended up developing something very special,” said Sam Charney, President of Charney Companies.  “The fitness world is always evolving, and we welcome Chris and Lauren as we push towards new actualities at The Dime. It’s exciting for us as developers to be a part of this approach to private, at-home fitness in a large residential building.”

The Dime will also soon be welcoming rock-climbing gym MetroRock’s second Brooklyn retail location to the development.  The chain offers climbing terrain at both beginner and experienced levels.  It will officially open to the public at the corner of Marcy Avenue and South 4th Street early in the second quarter of 2021.

Located at 275 South 5th Street, The Dime is well connected to transit and ideally located in walking distance of the L train and just one block from the Marcy stop on the JMZ trains at the foot of the Williamsburg Bridge, which offers ease of accessibility to the lower east side of Manhattan. Two East River ferry stops are within minutes of the building, as are nine bus lines. A Citibike station is adjacent to the building for bicycle riders. An abundance of green space can be found throughout the neighborhood, including Domino Park, McCarren Park, East River State Park, Cooper Park and Grand Ferry Park.

Prices at The Dime begin around $3,000 for studios, and over $7,000 for three-bedroom apartments. Penthouse residences with wraparound terraces are priced from $13,000.  For more information please call 718-599-DIME or log on to www.thedime.com where virtual, 3D apartment tours are also available.
