Atlantic Terminal is celebrating a major milestone — 20 years in the heart of Brooklyn — and it’s doing it the only way Brooklyn knows how: with a season packed full of free community events, dancing, fitness, and fun for the whole family.
Atlantic Terminal Kicks Off 20th Anniversary with Summer-Long Celebration
Running now through September, the Downtown Brooklyn shopping hub has launched Terminal 20: Summer on Track, a lively series of outdoor gatherings meant to bring neighbors and visitors together all summer long.
The Brooklyn community “has been at the heart of everything we do at Atlantic Terminal,” said Sunny Choi, head of leasing at Madison International Realty. “We’re thrilled to celebrate that connection with a season of joyful programming for our neighbors and visitors to enjoy together.”
Thursday Nights Heat Up with Summer Sunset Salsa
Every Thursday evening through August 21, the Atlantic Terminal Mall Plaza transforms into an open-air dance floor with the Summer Sunset Salsa Series, in partnership with Nieves Latin Dance Studio.
From 6 to 9 p.m., the plaza comes alive with live music, DJs, and dance lessons — perfect for beginners and seasoned salsa dancers alike. It’s a chance to move, groove, and connect through rhythm.
Wellness Wednesdays Get You Moving
Need a midweek boost? Wellness Wednesdays offer beginner-friendly fitness classes led by Diva Dance, blending upbeat music with feel-good choreography. Classes run through August 20 and are free with registration, but spots are limited, so plan ahead!
Family Fun Days This Summer
Summer Saturdays with Brooklyn Bridge Parents return on July 12 and September 14, bringing interactive fun for kids ages 0–12. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., little ones can dive into water play, crafts, games, and giveaways, which are all designed to inspire creativity and connection. Admission is free, with RSVP recommended.
For younger kids looking for something more immersive, Pixie Pods Summer Camp is running through September 2. This paid program focuses on artistic expression, active play, and imaginative discovery. Registration is required.
A Hub for More Than Just Shopping
Located at the intersection of Flatbush and Atlantic avenues, Atlantic Terminal has served Brooklyn not just as a transit and retail destination, but as a neighborhood gathering place. Now, 20 years later, Terminal 20: Summer on Track is both a celebration of its legacy and a thank-you to the community that built it.
