A Midwood senior is clinging to life after a drunk driver allegedly hit him on Avenue T on Saturday.

The 85-year-old victim, who lived nearby, was crossing the road near E. 26th Street at about 7:30 pm when a 27-year-old driver hit the man so hard he lost his shoes and smashed the car’s windshield, law enforcement sources said.

The victim was not in a crosswalk and walked out from behind two parked cars, a police report states.

Emergency responders took the senior to Lutheran Medical Center in critical condition, officials said.

The driver had no license and was driving a car with Florida plates, cops said.

Police are charging him with assault, driving without a license, and driving while intoxicated, a department spokesman said.
