Interactive Art, Culture, and Family Events at Success Community Garden
The Brooklyn Museum is introducing a new, mobile way to connect with Brooklynites across the borough. On Saturday, August 16, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Museum on Wheels will roll into the Success Community Garden at 461 Williams Ave., welcoming visitors of all ages to a free, engaging art program.
The news, recently featured on NYC Newswire, has already built a buzz in the area.
Developed in partnership with neighborhood groups and cultural institutions including The C.R.I.B. Family Enrichment Center, Museum on Wheels is more than just a pop-up—it’s a new direction in accessibility. Stationed in a modern Airstream trailer, the roving museum carries hands-on objects from the Brooklyn Museum’s educational collection, offering interactive art-making, community-focused games, live music, special giveaways, and immersive culture-led activities.

Taking Art Directly to the Community
“Sometimes, the best way to meet people where they are is to literally meet them where they are,” said Laval Bryant-Quigley, Director of Community Engagement and Partnerships at the Brooklyn Museum. “This mobile approach aims to stimulate creativity, foster a sense of curiosity, and encourage residents to envision broader possibilities for themselves and their communities.”
The Museum on Wheels was inspired by comprehensive discussions with Brooklyn-based organizations, including Brownsville Heritage House and El Puente in South Williamsburg. These conversations helped guide the event’s design, making sure the programming resonates with each neighborhood’s perspective and needs.
