In a major boost for New York’s tech economy, commerce technology company Queen One, Inc. will open its new headquarters in Williamsburg under a $10 million investment plan backed by state support. Governor Kathy Hochul announced that the company will lease 30,000 square feet at 25 Kent Avenue, where it plans to create 600 full-time, high-tech jobs and invest an additional $67 million in research and development over five years.
The project is supported by $6 million in performance-based tax credits through Empire State Development’s Excelsior Jobs Program, which rewards job creation and long-term economic growth.
AI, Software, and E-Commerce at Core of Expansion
Queen One, a fast-growing player in the e-commerce space, focuses on technology that helps brands bring their stories to life through next-generation platforms. This expansion is centered around the company’s high-demand fields, such as artificial intelligence, data science, and software development, which are all roles that will be based out of the new Brooklyn headquarters.
“This project brings hundreds of high-quality jobs and millions in research and development, reaffirming our commitment to making the Empire State a national leader in innovation, talent, and opportunity,” said Governor Hochul.
A Vision-Driven Space for Innovation and Inclusion
Queen One’s new facility, which the company is calling a “Vision Centre,” will host its design, engineering, and commercial teams during the workweek. However, on the weekends, the company is transforming the space into an “Imaginarium” — a creative, inclusive environment for adults with autism to connect, relax, and thrive.
“We are building something truly special right here in Brooklyn,” said COO and founder Maricor Resente. “We are creating these jobs, not just to grow Queen One, but to show other entrepreneurs why New York is the best place to build.”
CEO and founder Ryan Urban added that the headquarters will be more than a workplace. “Monday through Thursday, it will be a destination, hosting the best organizations and people in New York. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, the space transforms into an Imaginarium for adults with autism to have friends, enjoy life and break free.”
New York’s Tech Scene Continues to Surge
The announcement comes as New York City’s tech sector continues to flourish. The NYC Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC), who is supporting Queen One’s new headquarters with $6 million in performance-based Excelsior Jobs Program tax credits tied to job creation commitments, noted Queen One’s commitment to artificial intelligence aligns with the city’s broader efforts to become the global capital for applied AI.
President & CEO Andrew Kimball of NYCEDC praised the move: “Queen One joins a thriving innovation ecosystem in Brooklyn and its emphasis on AI will contribute to NYC’s status as the applied AI capital of the world. 25 Kent, in the heart of Williamsburg, will serve as an ideal launchpad for Queen One’s New York City chapter.”
More Than Business: A Community Commitment
Beyond its tech ambitions, Queen One is investing in community development through local workforce training, public events, and tech networking opportunities. The company’s open-door approach to its headquarters seeks to foster collaboration and build bridges between industry and community.
With recent expansions from other tech players like OpenAI and Figma, Queen One’s arrival adds to the city’s momentum as a national hub for digital innovation, proving that New York is not just keeping up with the future, it’s helping to define it.
