December’s House Party celebrates the ways that Brooklynites negotiate past and present, home and away, tradition and contemporary life. The day will include free art, performance, media and
education
activities all swirling into a dance party ($10) featuring Celebrate Brooklyn! alumna DJ Rekha, whose Basement Bhangra is a masterful fusion of classic and cutting-edge South Asian culture, and Brooklyn’s 8-piece Afro-funk-hop juggernaut mamarazzi who will celebrate their album release by getting your hips shaking with their tart, funky, acidic groove, pulp-n-rind hiphop.
