“Brooklyn Talks: Alice Walker” On October 12th At The Brooklyn Museum

Posted By Pia Fergus

“Join Alice Walker, author of the award-winning novel The Color Purple, for the New York release of her new book of poetry, Taking the Arrow Out of the Heart. Presented in both English and Spanish, this timely collection of nearly seventy works bears witness to our troubled political moment while chronicling a life well-lived. From poems of self-inquiry to the simple beauty of baking frittatas, Walker offers a glimpse into her personal world of activism and hope, and encourages audiences to honor the divine within themselves. The program includes a reading by Alice Walker, audience Q&A, and a book signing with the revolutionary poet. Presented in partnership with Atria Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster.”
