A selection of Baseball animated shorts from the 1920s through the 1940s.With host, Tommy Jose Stathes with live musical accompaniment by Charlie Judkins.

It’s time to sit back and relax for another hefty batch of 16mm (no digital!) animated cartoons from the 1920s to the 1940s, straight from the Stathes Archives to our secret silver screen in Bushwick!

Come on out for our athletic 78th program—for the first time ever, and in celebration of the spring season, we’re showcasing [mostly] baseball themed cartoons! A few other types of sports may be thrown in to round out the program. With the likes of some classic cartoon favorites like Popeye and Bluto, among many other runner ups, there will be energetic smiles and nostalgic chuckles abounding. Bring all your friends and family out for this rare opportunity to enjoy these rare and classic cartoons the way they were meant to be seen—projected on ‘reel’ film!

Our program also features live ragtime accompaniment by Charlie Judkins for select silent-era shorts…
