N.E.W. (National Expungement Works) has once again joined forces with WOCC (Women of Color in Cannabis) to host an event addressing the growing issue of food insecurity throughout local Brooklyn communities. On Friday, August 20th, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, N.E.W. and WOCC will host an F.L.O. (Food Let Out), food distribution at Drip Beverage Lounge, located at 830 Rogers Avenue in Flatbush, Brooklyn. They invite the community or anyone in need of fresh produce, pantry items, and beverages.
On hand at this event will be representatives from N.E.W., creators of the annual week known throughout the country and internationally for legal relief and transformative services known as National Expungement Week. This year National Expungement Week, a project of the organization, evolved into the N.E.W. Week of Action and Awareness, a call to action raising the public’s awareness of the importance of legal relief in restoring pathways for generational wealth and healing. This year, the Week of Action and Awareness will take place from September 26 – October 3, 2021.
