This market is almost ready for the check-out lane.

Georgetown’s Fairway Market is set to open at the start of the New Year after grocery honchos delayed the store’s planned summer opening to deal with the chain’s bankruptcy. Shoppers will be able to peruse the aisles of the borough’s second Fairway in early January, and the chain’s head honcho said he is excited to open its doors to the community.

“We are thrilled to become a part of the Georgetown community in Brooklyn and offer the neighborhood a shopping experience that is enjoyable and has something for everyone,” said Jack Murphy. “In addition, this new store opening will create 250-plus jobs for the community.”

The market will be in the Georgetowne Shopping Center at the corner of Ralph Avenue and Avenue L and will offer staples such as produce, perishables, meats, and fish — as well as a kosher and organic options and specialty foods including a large selection of coffee, a spokeswoman said.

Fairway delayed its opening after it filed for bankruptcy over the summer, but emerged this fall and announced it was moving forward with the Brooklyn store.
