“Park Slope ice creamery SkyIce is hosting its second annual Brain Freeze ice cream eating contest on November 18 from 2 to 4pm at 63 5th Ave. The ice cream-gorging event will be held between nine contestants selected from a pool of over 50 capable ice cream eaters. Competing consumers will down a pint of SkyIce’s Thai Tea flavored ice cream as fast as they can in the name of a $100 SkyIce gift certificate, which they can use to consume more ice cream, as well as a plaque commemorating their achievement.
The event is hosted by the Park Slope 5th Avenue Business Improvement District and will feature a “street fair atmosphere” with free ice cream, “Pad Thai Woonsen”, Thai ice tea and coconut water for all, not just those competing. There will also be giveaways and a DJ.”
