The owner of Tom’s Diner, Gus Vlahavas (76 years old) , died Tuesday due to respiratory complications. Tom’s diner is located at 782 Washington Avenue on the corner of Sterling Place. Tom’s diner, and Gus, have been staples in the Prospect Heights community for many years. The diner opened in 1936.
The wake will be held Sunday, Nov. 9 from 2pm- 4 pm and 7pm-9pm at Cobble Hill Chapels located at 171 Court St. The funeral will be held Monday, Nov. 10 at St. Constantine and Helen Cathedral located at 64 Schermerhorn St..
