Community Partnerships are the lifeblood of ENY Restoration LDC’s East Brooklyn 5K Run/Walk, Presented by ShopRite. The organization, We Run Brownsville, has come on board to join over 20 other Community Based Organizations, as a Community Partner for this event. Below is s statement from the organization.
“Eight weeks ago, we challenged ourselves to do something we have never done before; run and FINISH our first 5K race. On Saturday, September 17th we’ll be doing just that at the East Brooklyn 5K race. We’ve been training to run at Betsy Head Park in Brownsville with an incredible group of women who have also challenged themselves to do something they’ve never done before. We have pushed ourselves and each other to run farther, to run faster, to be stronger and to be better. It hasn’t been easy but we push through, we laugh a lot, and we don’t give up on ourselves or each other.
The main reason we can’t say or spell QUIT is because of our fierce and fearless leader Tinnette Spann. She won’t allow us to quit and refuses to accept anything but our best effort. We know exactly what tough love is: She is a red lipstick wearing, triathlete finishing, medal owning, toned and tough Diva who has encouraged and DARED us to run farther, run faster, be stronger and be better. Together we are “We Run Brownsville”.
