Performing Arts HS – A Gem in East New York

While talk of re-zoning, development and gentrification is buzzing around the Brooklyn neighborhood of East New York, Performing Arts & Tech HS has been quietly making a name for themselves.  The school goes by the name of PATHS, and is housed inside of Thomas Jefferson HS in the heart of East New York.  PATHS has been in existence for 12 years and has seen some of its students go on to become professional dancers and choreographers in its short existence. On Memorial Day weekend PATHS put on its annual PATHS Dance Show, in front of a large audience, at the Thomas Jefferson HS Campus.  Below is a raw clip of one of their dances, You Rock My World, choreographed by Mrs. Jones, the PATHS dance teacher who has led the dance program since its existence.  The dance program, affectionately known as PATHS Dance, has remained a constant at the school, through four Principal changes.  This clip is from the Sat May 28 show.
