This was way too easy of a pick for Buzz-Worthy Restaurant of the Week.
Il Porto Restaurant is one of the best kept secrets in all of Clinton Hill and possibly all of Brooklyn. There’s nothing on the menu at this brick oven restaurant that you will not like. We don’t want to call it a brick oven “pizza” spot because it is a true restaurant. The food is off the hook and the staff is in the top 5 when it comes to attention and friendliness.
The decor and ambiance are great whether it’s a relaxing evening for a couple celebrating an anniversary or a get-together for a bunch of old friends. In either case you will have a great experience.
Il Porto is located at the end of Washington Ave., which can seem to be out of the way, although it’s just 2 blocks from Myrtle Ave. Sometimes people would rather not cross the street under the BQE, but walking the extra block is so worth it. This is one of those places where you will visit again and again. The only problem with naming this restaurant as the buzz-worthy restaurant of the week is that we fear we are letting the world know about our little secret.
Our favorite dishes are the Pene Il Porto and the Fettuccine Grassadonia. The drinks are always good and they have cold beer on tap. If that wasn’t good enough, they even have a live trio Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.
