“Yes, a nod to the old Coney Island and the love of Brooklyn today! Also a wink to our location…just down the street from Immaculate Heart of Mary, the term steeplechase can be traced back to late 18th century Ireland where church steeples were used as landmarks in obstacle and cross-country horse races. Although we didn’t know the name of the shop before we found a home we all knew the shop was as much about Brooklyn as it was about coffee. The old Steeplechase Park offered the Brooklyn family a destination for merriment as we hope to bring our neighbors a new spot for community and outstanding coffee of course!”
