As technology becomes more prevalent in the hiring process, Brooklyn politicians like Council Members Laurie Cumbo and Alicka Ampry-Samuel want to make sure that the algorithms deployed do not shut out people of color. A new bill intended to create a level playing field would prohibit the sale of automated tools, which have shown to cause bias.
