Buzzworthy Restaurant of the Week: Post Office

drink

This is one trip to the Post Office that won’t leave you frustrated or make you wait on a ridiculously long line. This bar is an adorable little spot tucked off of Broadway on Havemeyer. It’s classic Brooklyn faded-chic decor, with an imprinted ceiling, alternate walls with floral wallpaper and distressed wood, and red chandeliers. It’s a great bar for that whiskey lover in your life, especially if it’s yourself! The bartender was unpretentious, attentive-without-being-invasive, genuinely friendly, and overall a pleasure to chat with. The cocktails are lovely and spirited, and priced very reasonably (especially in this neighborhood). The Jersey Fire Drill features spicy bitters, and it hits the spot just right if you’re into spicy bourbon. The New York Sour has an interesting red wine float. The tomato soup is delicious. The Creme Brûlée? Might be better than that made in a French restaurant. Try it yourself and tell us what you think!
