Recap of Spike Lee’s “Do The Right Thing” Day

spike-lee-do-the-right-thing-way On June 24th, 2014, Spike Lee was granted the opportunity to have his own street sign named after his movie Do The Right Thing. Spike was given the paperwork for the street sign by Brooklyn borough president Eric Adams. The sign is now up by Stuyvesant Avenue between Lexington Avenue and Quincy street. There was also a block party that happened from noon to 6PM, where fans of Spike Lee all gathered to have fun. Celebs such as Erykah Badu, Dave Chappelle, and Wesley Snipes were present, and Public Enemy and Yasiin Bey performed to the crowd.

The film turned 25 at the end of June.
